Grouplove (also typeset as GROUPLOVE) is an American Indie Rock band which was formed in 2009 by Hannah Hooper, Christian Zucconi, Sean Gadd, Andrew Wessen and Ryan Rabin (son of former Yes guitarist Trevor Rabin).
Grouplove began when Hannah Hooper and Christian Zucconi forged a friendship with the latter three members while attending an artists' residency on the island of Crete.[1][2] Before returning to their homelands, they began hashing out plans to meet up again and put some of the music they had been working on to tape. When back in the United States they recorded the material at drummer Ryan Rabin's home studio. As a result, their first EP was released in 2010.[2] The band has since been touring in the US as the opening act for Florence and the Machine and has several tour dates in the United Kingdom.[3] In an interview with Press Plus 1 in April, it was revealed their full-length album would be released in September 2011. A new single, "Itchin on a Photograph," will be available for download in the UK on June 19 and June 21 in the US per the official YouTube channel grouplovemusic. On May 16, 2011, Grouplove announced their full-length debut album will be titled "Never Trust a Happy Song", and will be released September 5 in the UK, and the 13th in the US. Their song Goldcoast was used on the movie The Sorcerer's Apprentice.[4] In July 6, 2011, they played what Zucconi said to be their "best booking ever" on Optimus Alive'11 Festival (Algés, Lisbon). 50,000 people attended the venue.
