Light The Fire is a hard rock/heavy metal band that formed in Dallas, TX in the summer of 2010. LTF came together after the breakup of several prominent regional touring acts. Originally, Light The Fire began with guitarist Ryan Dickinson and bass player Andrew Penland writing and recording songs with producer Dustin Morrison at Greentown Studios. These demos would turn into LTFs first EP ..."Note To Self". In the process of writing the EP, Andrew and Ryan put together a full band consisting of drummer Paul Brown, 2nd guitarist Felix Lopez, and vocalist Jamie Glasgow. Taking nearly a year to complete recording, LTF practiced and honed their skills for their first live show. LTF debuted live for the first time October 22nd 2011 to a sold out crowd at the Curtain Club in Dallas, TX. Throughout the rest of 2011 and 2012 Light The Fire continued to tour regionally throughout Texas and the surrounding states. Along the way, Light The Fire would replace drummer Paul Brown with current drummer Blake Hein and vocalist Jamie Glasgow with current vocalist Jeff Gunter. Over the course of 2012, LTF achieved radio play on Dallas hard rock station 97.1 the Eagle as well as on Shreveport hard rock station 99x.
In the summer of 2012 Light The Fire decided it was time to start writing their 2nd EP with the mindset of becoming a national recording act. As a result, the guys in Light The Fire chose to travel across the United States to Westfield, Massachusetts to record at the legendary Zing Studios (Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, etc...) with premier national metal producer Eric Arena (A Day To Remember, Devil Wears Prada, etc...). Light The Fire recorded 3 brand new songs with Arena at the helm. However, LTF being a band that constantly strives to push their limits musically and professionally, this wasn’t enough. Upon return to Texas, Light The Fire immediately headed back to the studio to with more songs to add to their brand new EP and began working with national producer Geoff Rockwell (Memphis May Fire, Crown the Empire, Forever the Sickest Kids, Kid Liberty etc.) at skyLAB studios in Fort Worth.
With a new lineup and new energy 2013 is shaping up to be a big year for Light The Fire. This year will see the release of Light The Fires 2nd EP, accompanying DVD, music video, and many more tour dates. Be on the look out for Light The Fire in 2013!
