September Songs is the fourth release from Austin, Texas based roots-pop veterans Blue Cartoon. For the unfamiliar, Blue Cartoon's music can best be described as a folk-based power-pop concoction that sits somewhere between The Jayhawks and Teenage Fanclub. Blue Cartoon s vocal arrangements have drawn comparisons to the likes of CSN&Y, The Byrds and The Thorns. With three fine songwriters in the band, Blue Cartoon s records have consistently been full of gems. After a four-year hiatus Blue Cartoon has returned with a veritable treasure.
