On 11 August 2014 Jennifer Left is to release her debut album. Called ‘Hushabye’, the album is preceded on 28 July by the single ‘Cold Black Stare’ . ‘Hushabye’ was written and recorded at Clockwork Owl Studios over the last two years, and is a collaboration between Jennifer, Brighton-based producer Tim Bidwell (producer of Kate Walsh’s album, ‘Tim’s House’ – the only unsigned artist ever to make No.1 on the iTunes album chart) and Ewan Wallace (guitar player with Ninja Tune’s award winning down-tempo artist Bonobo). Fresh off the press, her album takes in a multitude of influences ranging from old-time swing to The Kinks, and on to more contemporary artists like Feist and Sarah Blasko. It’s commercial, current and catchy, and has an inherent musicality which belies its quirky nature.
