Jerry Goldsmith(1929-2004)，其一生共獲得5次艾美獎、17次奧斯卡電影音樂提名，并在1977年憑借電影The Omen折桂。Jerry Goldsmith師從著名配樂師匈牙利人Miklós Rózsa(1959年的奧斯卡11項大獎Ben-Hur就是其杰作)，從最開始CBS時期的廣播劇、電視劇開始，一步步發展到成為名燥一時的配樂家，其在1963年獲奧獎提名的電影Freud是Jerry Goldsmith的音樂歷程上的升華，從此他獲得了好萊塢各個導演的青睞：Robert Wise 、Howard Hawks、Roman Polanski等作品都留有Jerry Goldsmith跳動的聲符，而曾獲奧斯卡最佳導演的Franklin James Schaffner更是將Jerry Goldsmith看作是其的御用樂師。Jerry Goldsmith一生著作無數，涉獵的體裁廣泛，從戰爭片、藝術片、動作片、科教片、運動類甚至動畫片都在其創作范圍內，大師稱謂無可爭議。2003年，Jerry Goldsmith的最后一部作品——為樂你通的動畫片Back in Action的配樂后不久，于2004年7月21日去世，終年75歲。
這張專輯官方的版本多半是12-14首的歌曲版，只有一張商業版Promo是35首，歌曲+大部分配樂，但是仍然有很多曲目未收錄。我發布的這個版本是Fans根據德國版的Complete Score Bootleg（大家看到的這張封面就是德國版的封面）再制作的，收錄了全部的歌曲和幾乎全部的配樂，因為德國版Complete Score Bootleg中有5首替換配樂(Alternate)這個版本沒有收錄。
