20世紀七十年代的法國搖滾樂隊，經常伴隨著嘲笑與輕視，但理所當然的，這其中不包括Plastic Bertrand、Jacques Dutronc等法國新浪潮與搖滾樂的代表人物，還要加上post-punk/new wave/power pop樂隊The Dogs——這支被歷史忽視的法國樂隊。尤其是他們1979年發行的處女專輯《Different》，絕對是一張珍品——尖刻的吉他，法式小調，還有緊密的詩歌般的歌曲創作，誕生出了像"Stranger Than Me"、"A Different Me"、"The Greatest Gift"和"(I'm Gonna Learn To) Live With It"這樣的名曲。之后，The Dog又于1980年和1982年相繼發行了《Walking Shadows》和《Too Much Class for the Neighbourhood》。尤其是《Too Much Class for the Neighbourhood》也是一張不容忽視的佳作。
21 世紀初，Sony Music Media重新再版發行了一系列Sony Millenium POP的CD，這系列中的專輯都是各個藝人或樂隊最為經典的作品，The Dogs的《Too Much Class for the Neighbourhood》就是其中一張。
