Amerie’s back with her third album, “Because I Love It,” and it’s nothing short of mediocre. Amerie always seems to give the people something they like, but never can sell solid numbers or give a great album. It’s always “okay,” or “good” or “I mean, it was cool.” I tried to be an Amerie fan (as I have been in the past) this time around, but with the failed single, “Take Control” (and it’s horrible video) and the fact that this album is absolutely all over the place, I just couldn’t bring myself to get into it - as much as I wanted to. But I don’t think it’s all bad. Amerie actually gives you some good songs on the album, it’s just something about it to me that sounds incomplete. Maybe it’s because we’ve heard all of these songs before the album’s release. A lot of the material just sounds old to me. Anyway, “Because I Love It” is set for May 15th release.
