Right off the top, the Broken City Soundtrack for the movie's trailer features two bang-on songs including "Flower" by Moby & "Power" by Kanye West. With the song "Power", West had me hooked from the first vocal chants and despite his whacked out temperament you can't help but appreciate his genius as a songwriter and producer.

Kanye West's song "Power" with the signature riff "21st Century Schizoid Man" lifted from King Crimson is also featured as the music on the Broken City Movie website. You may recognize it from being played on the commercials to the 2011 movie release Limitless starring Robert DeNiro and Bradley Cooper, another movie that speaks to the intoxicating impact of power.

"Flower" by Moby is the lead song on the Broken City trailer and it could easily be overlooked once the Kanye West track kicks in. But it's equally powerful and has also been used on the movie soundtracks to Gone in 60 Seconds, Swing Vote.

For the score, director Allen Hughes worked with composers Atticus Ross (The Social Network, The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo). Leo Ross & Claudia Sarne (The Book of Eli). Music Editor on Broken City is Joseph S. DeBeasi working with music supervisors Season Kent & Scott Vener.

Broken City stars Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe & Catherine Zeta-Jones. I can't wait to see the movie as some of the supporting roles feature some of my favorite actors who we don't get to see as often in films including Friday Night Light's Kyle Chandler and veteran film and stage actor, Griffin Dunne, son of Vanity Fair writer, Dominick Dunne. Release Date: January 18, 2013.
